— The Brief

About the Project

This fake magazine was created to support the nomination of an Ascensus employee for an internal company award. 

The theme was chosen because of the nominee’s well-known hobby of visiting craft breweries. 

The content came from other employees who wrote about their experiences with the nominee. 

The masthead was compiled using real employee names. Images were sourced from stock photos. Ads for local breweries and homebrewing equipment were based on actual local businesses.

— The Work

I knew I wanted to imitate the style of a teen magazine. I browsed online for inspiration, and combined a few elements from each for a look that was professional but still fun.

— The Results

While our co-worker did not win the award, several members of the team that contributed quotes, as well as our Agency Director and the nominated co-worker asked for printed copies.
